Chia

Founder & Massage Practitioner

You’ll be speaking directly with me when you book or have any questions.
I created Chia’s Place as a little pocket of sunshine—a space where people can come to heal, feel good, and yes, even nap.

Alongside my hands-on work, I am also a birth worker. I focus on supporting clients around how massage, touch, and the right environment can deeply shape and transform the experience of birth.

My journey into massage started quietly—through caring for those I love.
I supported my father as he was dying from stage 4 kidney failure, soothed my grandfather’s swollen legs as he faced ongoing health complications and dementia, and used massage as labour relief for not one, but two of my dearest friends during childbirth—and many quiet moments in between.

I was always the friend massaging your hand, giving you a scalp rub, or gently tickling your toes. I never thought of myself as a “touchy” person, but looking back, I see how deeply intuitive and powerful touch has been throughout my life.

Massage is a deeply personal thing—as is touch. Done by the wrong person, and you’ll be running a mile. But when you find the right therapist—someone who holds space for you, challenges you to feel deeper, and helps you reconnect with your body—it can change everything.

As we grow older, we often lose touch with the true power of human connection through touch. Sadly, touch sometimes gets reduced to something that feels more transactional or is even sexualized in ways that overshadow its natural, nurturing essence. But touch is part of our human instinct—a language that’s tied to our five senses, allowing us to comfort, heal, and express care without words.

At home, massage is also our language of comfort. My daughter’s first instinct when she’s feeling sad, has an upset tummy, or simply wants to feel close is to ask for a massage. It’s her go-to remedy—just as it’s become mine.

I wanted to create a space where I could be fully myself. And I’ve never felt so alive. Finding what I love and seeing the positive impact it has on the lives that find their way to this little studio in South East London feels like magic.

This is so much more than massage.
It’s nervous system care. It’s deep listening. It’s healing through connection.
And the truth is—you’ll only really know what it is when you experience it for yourself.

As Chia’s Place has become a "re-treat" focused on helping clients reconnect with their bodies and restore balance, I wanted to expand that energy by bringing in a therapist whose unique skills align with my vision. Agata’s approach perfectly complements what I do here—helping people overcome muscular tension, nervous system overload, and physical limitations so they can move freely and comfortably. Together, we offer a well-rounded, tailored treatment experience that truly embodies the heart of Chia's Place: a space where healing happens naturally.
