Cupping and more!
Here's the type of cupping I offer:
01
Cupping and Massage
This allows for a more targeted approach, as I begin with massage, looking for areas of tension. While I’m working on one area, I can place cups in another to let them work their magic simultaneously. Giving you the benefits of both techniques!
02
Cupping and Movement
The cups reduce the space in the tissues, and by adding movement, we stretch those tissues and facia more deeply. This approach helps improve your range of motion and releases tension in a more dynamic way, especially in areas where movement feels limited or stuck.
03
Cupping and Targeted Areas
I don't just place the cups everywhere, they are thoughtfully placed based on tension, pain, mobility. Placing cups everywhere doesn’t always mean better results. By spreading out the focus, you may dilute the benefits, as cupping works best when targeted at areas of specific need.
04
Cupping and Gliding
Gliding cups over the skin helps identify tension spots while providing a deep stretch. As the cups move, they gently pull on the skin, boosting circulation and relieving tightness.
This technique brings fresh blood to the area and targets restricted tissues for focused relief and relaxation.

What does cupping do?
When the cup pulls on your skin, it stretches and lifts the layers underneath. Think of your skin and muscles like layers of fabric that sometimes get stuck together or twisted. Cupping helps "unstick" them and allows them to move more freely. This can increase blood flow, loosen tight muscles, and relieve tension in the connective tissue (the web-like material that holds everything together in your body).
In short, cupping helps to stretch out the tissues, improve circulation, and relax areas that feel tight or sore, making your body feel less stiff and more mobile.

What to expect
I use either fire cupping or dry cupping- you can choose on the day of your appointment.
Your first session begins with a consultation, allowing me to understand your body’s specific needs and design a treatment plan that delivers the most benefit to you and the focus areas are precisely chosen to target your concerns. While these sessions are primarily remedial, I will always adapt to your preferences to what is needed that day, ensuring you receive the perfect balance of both therapies
Benefits
This space creation has multiple benefits:
-
It changes the mechanical forces within the body, which stimulates the fascia (connective tissue) and the nervous system, leading to various responses.
-
It reduces pressure within the tissues (decompression), allowing the body to release excess fluid and pressure that build up due to inflammation. The body uses its own systems (like the lymphatic system) to remove this fluid.
-
It enhances the body's natural filtration and detoxification processes, potentially even more effectively than the kidneys.
In simpler terms, cupping may help the body to:
-
Reduce inflammation: By creating space and reducing pressure, it may help to clear out fluids and substances that contribute to inflammation.
-
Improve circulation: The changes in pressure and tissue space may help to improve blood and lymph flow
-
Detoxify: By enhancing the body's filtration processes, it may help to remove waste products and toxins more efficiently.
-
Stimulate the nervous system: The mechanical changes may trigger responses in the nervous system that promote healing and relaxation.
Treatment is not suitable for:
-
Individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
-
Those with burns, skin diseases, or open wounds.
-
Cancer patients, especially if undergoing chemotherapy or radiation.
-
People with deep vein thrombosis or severe cardiovascular conditions
Possible side affects:
-
Burns: The use of fire to create suction can sometimes cause burns if not performed correctly by the practitioner, if this is a concern, I do offer alternative of suction cups.
-
Discoloration: This is the most common side effect, resulting from the suction pulling blood to the surface of the skin.
-
Skin Infections: If the skin is not properly cleaned before and after treatment, there is a risk of infection.
-
Blistering: Prolonged suction or excessive heat can cause blisters.
-
Discomfort: Some people may experience discomfort or pain during or after the treatment.
