Let's explore!
My goal is to shift the focus from "choosing a type" to creating a session that truly meets your needs.
It can be confusing to select the right option, especially with so many available—from Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lomi Lomi, Aromatherapy, Lymphatic, and Sports Massage. That’s why I offer three types of massage: Remedial, Full Body, and Pregnancy Massage.
While each type of massage has its unique techniques, they also share many similarities, and the beauty of it is that every therapist brings their own interpretation to the practice.
I believe the most important aspect is building trust with your massage therapist.
When you feel safe and comfortable, your body can fully relax and engage in the healing process.
We’ll always begin with a brief "check-in" to understand how you and your body are feeling.
Then, together, we’ll tailor the session to best suit your needs, incorporating any suggestions from my side.

So let's discuss the benefits deeper:
Full Body Massage:
-
Reduces stress and anxiety by activating the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), promoting the release of endorphins, oxytocin, and serotonin, while reducing cortisol and adrenaline. This leads to pain relief, stress reduction, and an overall sense of relaxation and well-being.
-
Massage boosts immune function by reducing cortisol, increasing white blood cells, improving lymphatic flow, and enhancing sleep quality, all of which help the body fight illness more effectively.
-
Massage enhances circulation throughout the body by stimulating blood flow, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to tissues, and aiding the removal of toxins and waste products.
-
Detoxifies the body by improving lymphatic drainage, especially in those with a more sedentary lifestyle, helping to naturally move and eliminate fluids that may lead to retention and swelling.
-
Massage uses my signature oil blends, and since the skin is the body's largest organ, it effectively absorbs these oils, allowing their benefits to penetrate deeply. Each blend offers unique therapeutic properties: calming oils like Ylang Ylang and Lavender soothe stress, while invigorating oils like Black Pepper and Rosemary help relieve muscle tension. Through absorption, these oils enhance the healing effects of the massage, promoting relaxation and well-being.
Remedial Massage:
-
Relieves chronic pain and muscle tension by targeting specific areas of discomfort and working on trigger points, leading to a significant reduction in pain levels and improved mobility.
-
Improves posture and alignment by addressing muscle imbalances and tightness, helping to realign the body and prevent future discomfort or injuries.
-
Enhances recovery from injury by promoting blood flow to injured areas, reducing inflammation, and accelerating the healing process through targeted treatment.
-
Increases flexibility and range of motion by releasing tight muscles and fascia, making everyday movements easier and improving overall physical performance.
-
Supports mental clarity and emotional balance by reducing physical discomfort, which can help alleviate anxiety and promote a sense of calm and focus.
-
Supports mental clarity and emotional balance by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes the release of endorphins, oxytocin, and serotonin, helping to alleviate anxiety and enhance mood, leading to a greater sense of calm and improved focus.
What to expect
Your first massage session will begin with a thorough consultation to assess your specific needs and concerns. This allows me to design a personalized treatment plan that effectively targets your areas of tension or discomfort.
During the session, I will focus on the key areas that need attention, utilizing techniques tailored to your preferences. We will use my signature oil blends, which will be absorbed by your skin, enhancing the overall therapeutic effects of the massage.
You'll have the opportunity to discuss any specific issues, whether they are related to pain, stress, or muscle tension. I will check in with you throughout the session to ensure you’re comfortable and that the pressure is appropriate.
Please review the contraindications listed below. If you have any of the specified health conditions, I will not be able to perform certain techniques or offer a refund on the day of the appointment. However, I’m happy to discuss alternative treatment options tailored to your needs. Please use the contact link to share details about your condition, and we’ll work together to find the right approach for you.
Why don't you do longer than 90 minutes for remedial massage? Longer sessions can lead to fatigue for both the therapist and the client, potentially diminishing the effectiveness of the treatment. A 90-minute session is typically sufficient to address specific issues while ensuring you remain comfortable and engaged.
It's my first time coming, and I usually get a full body massage, but I have an ache I want to work on. What should I do? We can certainly tailor your session to focus on your specific needs. I will start with a brief consultation to assess the dull ache and then we can work on it a bit longer. Just remember, when we use that time to zone in on the area, it does take time away from the rest of the body. I do my best to make sure you feel you've had a complete full body! But that is why I have the two options- so if you want to have the full body experience first we can then tailor a remedial massage for your next session. It works best as well because we would have had a "full scope" of your body in the Full Body massage.
What oils do you use? I use grapeseed oil as the carrier oil, which is known for its lightweight texture and excellent absorption. It also offers benefits like moisturizing the skin, being rich in antioxidants, and having anti-inflammatory properties. Along with the carrier oil, I have signature blends for specific needs: Anxiety: Promotes relaxation and calmness Calm: Enhances tranquility and reduces stress Muscle: Provides relief and soothes soreness
Can I relax during a remedial massage? Absolutely! While remedial massage focuses on specific issues, many clients find it relaxing. Your relationship with pain is key; some people enjoy deeper pressure and may even fall asleep, which can greatly facilitate the work on the muscles.
Do you talk during your sessions? I let you lead the way in terms of conversation. During a remedial session, I tend to check in more frequently to gather feedback as we work through different muscle groups. However, if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, I'm happy to take your cue and allow for quieter moments.
Why don't you do shorter than an hour? Sessions shorter than an hour often don’t provide enough time to effectively address your needs. A minimum of one hour allows us to thoroughly assess your condition and apply the appropriate techniques for a meaningful treatment experience.
I’m postnatal—when can I get a massage, and which one should I book? The timing for a postnatal massage depends on your type of birth, the specific areas you want to address, and how comfortably you can lay on the table. I always adapt the sessions to suit your needs, ensuring you feel comfortable and supported. Feel free to give me a call
